The Higgs sector in SUSY GUTs

Description
We study the predictions (sin2THETAsub(W), Msub(x), msub(b)/msub(tau)) of supersymmetric GUTs with an enlarged Higss sector of an intermediate mass. We find that colour octets, colour triplets or SU(3) x SU(2) singlets, of an intermediate mass result in greatly improved predictions in contrast to the minimal case. A mechanism for the generation of gluino masses via colour octets is also proposed. (orig.)
