Confinement theory of LHD

  • 1. National Inst. for Fusion Science, Toki, Gifu (Japan)

Description

Physics considerations are presented on the plasmas of the Large Helical Device (LHD). Characteristics of LHD configurations are also reviewed. The flexibility of LHD as an experimental device is emphasized. The nonlinear poloidal viscosity is calculated for the LHD plasma and the possibility of L-H transition is considered. (author)
