Description
The data indicate that both uptake and elimination of fatty acids are disturbed in patients with congestive cardiomyopathy (COCM). These changes can be recognized by a discordance between pattern of accumulation defects and that of regional changes of I-123-HA turnover in the myocardium. Thus I-123-HA is a highly sensitive radiopharmaceutical agent in the diagnosis of COCM even in the early stage of this disease
