X-ray diffraction, neutron diffraction, X-ray spectroscopic and X-ray photoemission studies of spinel-like manganites
Description
Studies have been carried out on spinel-like manganites, using X-ray and neutron diffraction techniques. The cation distribution in lattices of CoMn3O4 MgMn2O4, ZnMn3O4 and CuMn2O4 have been investigated, particularly with a view to study its influence on the magnetic and electrical properties of the crystalline substance. Shifts of k-absorption edge and the main peak position of manganese in manganites as measured by X-ray spectroscopic method, have been reported. The results have been compared with those of other investigators as well as those obtained by photoemission techniques. The complete ionic configurations for the different manganites have been presented. (K.B.)
