Hydrogen isotope effects in dark and photochemical reaction of pentacyanocobaltate (2) in aqueous solutions

Description

Isotope effects in different stages of interaction between pentacyanocobaltate (PCC) and water in photochemical and dark variants are studied. Values of hydrogen kinetic isotope effects are found not to exceed 1.5. Isotope composition of hydrogen escaping to a gas phase under dark conditions corresponds to the equilibrium one for reaction of isotope exchange of molecular hydrogen with water, and under photochemical conditions deuterium content is below equilibrium. Light is shown to accelerate considerably the reaction of isotope exchange of PCC hydride with water. Explanation of the effects obtained is given
