Radiation safety of standard NPP with WWER-440
Description
On the basis of the 4-7 year experience in operation of standard NPP with WWER-440 given are the data testifying to reliable ensuring of personnel and population radiation safety. The individual external dose of the overwhelming majority of the personnel does not exceed 10% of the permissible dose per year, and the population dose normalized according to the generated electric energy is 0.05-0.1 man rem/GWxh, approximately 1.0 rem/MWxyear, which is not more than that for USA and FRG NPP. The annual gas release does not exceed the design acceptable values. The annual radioactive waste disposal with debalance waters is negligible. The environmental impact of standard NPP with WWER-440 is practically absent
