Study of radon concentration in homes of the Republic of Serbia

Description

The distribution of indoor 222 Rn concentration was examined in the homes in the Republic of Serbia. The radon concentration was randomly measured in 555 homes. We have used the method based on radon adsorption in charcoal. Typical 222 Rn concentrations in homes, averaged over the year, are in the range 37 - 200 Bq/m3 (88). In 10% of homes concentrations are higher (200-600 Bq/m3), while for 2 of them are considerably higher (>600 Bq/m3). (author)
