Description

One of the main goals on the synthesis of zeolites is to control the crystallization of a zeolitic phase, i.e, identify the 'structure directing factors' which are involved in the obtaining of a zeolitic phase, as gel concentration [1], chemical composition, the use of fluoride anions and cationic species [2, 3]. Hence our motivation in this work is to contribute to the understanding of these factors and identify the conditions that favor the synthesis of different zeolitic phases. Thus, it was synthesized the organic cation 1,2,3-triethylimidazolium (123TEI), which is based on the imidazolium charged ring, for its use as 'Structure Directing Agent' in the synthesis of high-silica zeolite by the fluoride via and high H2O/SiO2 ratio. We have crystallized the pure silica MFI zeolite, which was characterized with 1H and 13C NMR (cation) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). First results proved that this cations is useful to obtain topologies as MFI zeolite (silicalite-1) [4]. (author)
