Pionic atoms from inside out: direct production in (p,π-) reactions
Description
Behaviour near threshold of the (p,π-) reaction is discussed, and the feasibility of using this reaction for direct production of pionic-atom states is indicated. Important extensions of pionic-atom studies could be made possible by this new technique. (Auth.)
