Description
This chapter discusses the safety requirements in the IAEA's regulations for the transport of irradiated fuel and the procedures by which they are made applicable to such shipments. A review is presented of the record of safety in transport and some predictions of assessments in support of the conclusion that the safety measures being taken in transport of irradiated fuel are adequate.
