Adsorption of sulfur dioxide on active coal

  • 1. Laboratoire des Interactions Fluides-Milieux Poreux, Ecole Naitonale d'Ingenieurs de Gabes (Tunisia)

Description

The aim of this work is to study the mass transfer phenomena in a fixed bed of an active carbon. The mathematical modelling of the breakthrough curves is based on the main mechanisms of mass transfer (external and internal diffusivity) and axial dispersion. The model proposed describes in a satisfying manner the adsorption of SO2 on active carbon. (Author)
