Nucleon spin physics: Experimental status and potential of HERMES, COMPASS AND RHIC

Existing data that seem to shed the most light on the spin structure of the nucleon are summarized. An estimate is made of what important new data will emerge in the next 5 years from projects now in the construction or commissioning phase
