Description

The elemental distribution of zinc, cobalt, selenium, iron, caesium and antimony, which are biologically important trace elements, has been found by instrumental neutron activation analysis and gamma spectroscopy in the three parts of human myomatous uterus obtained from twenty individuals. The variation of the content of zinc, cobalt and selenium in myoma and myometrium was found to be very significant statistically (p<0.001) compared with the variation of these elements in endometrium. The difference in the variation of iron between myoma and endometrium was also found to be very significant statistically. The concentration of the elements determined in myoma, myometrium and endometrium has been correlated with the age. (author)
