Description

An antenna was developed to radiate high power, sub-nanosecond EM pulse, which consists of a high power wideband mode convertor, a wire frame TEM horn feedback set and a parabolic reflector. The radiation E field pattern is about +- 3.8 degree and radiation efficiency is 37% when the antenna is excited by a pulse of 700 ps duration and 200 kV peak voltage. Compared with those antennas with face-to-face TEM horns or co-planar TEM horns, this kind of antenna has the best radiating property
