Description
The modern radiotherapy is impossible without precise topometric information for the relation tumor-normal tissue. The radiotherapy principle - maximal doses in the tumor and minimal irradiation of the normal tissue is realized through maximal precise imaging of the tumor invasion. The integration of radiological, sonography and NMR images and the electronic transfer makes a direct input of the information into the radiotherapy planning program. In this way the anatomic-topography planning of the clinical target volume, planned target volume and irradiated volume is enabled with high precision. The nuclear medicine methods led to the next step in the tumor imaging - so called biological planning of the radiotherapy. PET visualizes the tumor circulation, determines the hypoxic areas and provides the additional configuration of the target volumes. The paper presents the problems in the radiotherapy and the ways to reach high level technological approaches in Bulgaria
