Application of local vacuum E.B. welding for pipes
Description
A local vacuum EB welding technique was applied to pipe welding from inside of a pipe such as using in a power station. The gun of this machine has a maximum output power of 15 KW (30KV-500mA) and able to weld not less than 276mm O.D. Welding position was experimented as to flat and vertical positions. The following techniques were developed: control of penetration bead figure with piercing beam feed back control system; method of local vacuum seal
