Practical use and characteristics of thermoluminescence dosimeters as a personal monitor

  • 1. Gunma Cancer Center (Japan)

Description

Since 1972, Mg2SiO4 thermoluminescence dosimeter has been used as a personal monitor at Gunma Cancer Center Hospital. Reusability, energy dependence, dose dependence, mechanical strength, direction dependence, and fading of thermoluminescence dosimeter were suitable as a personal monitor. Compared to the film badge, the most useful characteristic of a Mg2SiO4 thermoluminescence dosimeter is that its minimum dose was 1 mR. (auth.)
