Metal leaching of fuel-oil power station flying ashes
Description
The elimination of waste in landfill or storage prior to it's valorization needs laboratory experiments to quantify the potential risks to the environment. We have studied fuel-oil power station flying ashes, before and after calcination. With the aid of a number of lisimeters and aqueous leaching solutions, we were able to monitor the behaviour of these types of flying ashes, in particular the amount of vanadium, nickel and iron found in the waste. This approach allows us to determine operating conditions to washing this waste allowing a possible storage without leaching of metallic ions in the environment. (author). 9 refs., 11 figs., 2 tabs
