Neutron radiography study of textures of oriented transformer sheets

The research was performed on coarse-grain oriented transformer sheets of the Fe-3%Si alloy. The experimental and calculation techniques are briefly described for a quantitative texture analysis using a three-dimensional orientation distribution function together with the thermal neutron diffraction method. Another method using neutron diffraction consists in the measurement of crystallographic direction (100) distribution in the selected angular range about the direction of rolling. By way of example, the results are given for two samples differing in magnetic properties and grain size. (M.D.). 3 figs., 1 tab., 8 refs
