Ion exchange resin as base for the preparation of standards for heavy ions: Application to neutron activation analysis Pt. 2

  • 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Analytical Chemistry Div.

Description

The use of ion exchange resin beads as microstandards was realized when it was found that the resin beads could be used as a support to hold the ion(s) to its capacity or at trace levels. Such resin beads could find use as irradiation standards in neutron activation analysis. This approach can be employed with advantage to overcome the difficulties associated with the maintenance and storage of aqueous standards of mercury and antimony. (author)
