Dose-rate equivalent of neutrons at a heavy -ion accelerator

Description
Measurements of the neutron dose-rate equivalent at the Berlin heavy ion accelerator VICKSI are described. The neutron dose-rate equivalent is given for different beam parameters. Ions used are Ar, Ne, C, O, Kr, He in the energy range 3 to 20 MeV per nucleon. Estimations of the maximum possible exposure of employees due to accidents are given. (orig.)

Es werden Strahlenschutzmessungen am Schwerionenbeschleuniger VICKSI, Berlin, beschrieben. Fuer verschiedene Strahlparameter wird die Aequivalentdosisleistung der Neutronen angegeben. Als Ionensorten wurden Ar, Ne, C, O, Kr und He im Energiebereich von 3 bis 20 MeV pro Nukleon verwendet. Es werden Abschaetzungen fuer unfallbedingte maximale Strahlenexpositionen der Beschaeftigten gemacht. (orig.)Additional details
