Effect of irradiation medium on state of palladium applied to silica gel

Description
Using the method of ''molecular probe'', the effect of oxidizing and reducing media during ν-irradiation of 4%Pd/SiO2-catalyst on the active phase state has been investiqated. In the state of active phase of silicon-palladium catalyst during irradiation in hydrogen and oxygen changes, affecting IR-spectra of CO adsorption products, take place. It is found, that during irradiation in hydrogen the increase, and in oxygen - the decrease in palladium facet [111] outbreak on the surface take place
