Improvements in liquid scintillation counting
Description
In the IAEA Tritium Laboratory two Liquid Scintillation Spectrometers are in routine operation: TRICARB older Model 3320 and TRICARB new Model 3255 (Packard Instrument Comp. Inc.). The water/Insta-gel scintillation cocktail in proportion 8/14 has been chosen for optimal efficiency. Some modification of the spectrometers are made in order to decrease the background by about 2 cpm
