Determining the origin of mineral waters in Southern Poland with the aid of isotope methods
Description
Stable isotope determinations supported when necessary by tritium and 14C measurements of mineral waters from the Miocene sea formations and the Carpathian flysch in southern Poland are presented. In the area of the Miocene the following waters have been identified so far: Miocene sea water, burried paleoinfiltration water, pre-Quaternary water, interglacial water, last glaciation water, and Holocene water both modern and from the pre-bomb era. In the Carpathian flysch the following types have been found present infiltration, mixed present infiltration with water of probable metamorphic origin, and waters of unclear origin - either mixed, or paleoinfiltration waters with the stable isotope contents shifted by ultrafiltration and exchange processes.
