Methods for routine control of tritium concentration in air moisture in the laboratory

Description
Routine control of tritium concentration in air moisture is important in low-level counting tritium laboratory in order to avoid possible contamination of samples. Also in laboratories dealing with high activities in various form such control is necessary for radiological protection. Methods are described for quick and continuous sampling of air moisture. The last method is based on the exchange reaction of water molecules between sampling pan and air moisture. Relation between residual water volume and tritium concentration in air moisture is calculated and practical conclusion for routine sampling and liquid scintillation counting are given. (author)
