AbstractAbstract
[en] At the J. Stefan Institute in Ljubljana the 250 kW TRIGA Mark II reactor has been in operation since May 31, 1966. It is the steady state operated reactor without pulsing capabilities. In 1975 we replaced the original recorder by a two pen Philips recorder, starting channel, and the control rod mechanical indicators system with a digital display. As a driving unit for the control rods we are using now step motors. In September 1976 14 new FLIP fuel elements have been inserted and all elongated Al-clad fuel elements have been removed from the core. The old and new flux distributions are presented. The frequency of irradiations in the central thimble substantially increased in the last years, therefore the water from the central thimble was removed in order to facilitate the irradiation of the samples. With the semiautomatic sample lifting device it is now possible to insert or remove radiation containers. During the last two years training courses for the staff of the nuclear power station Krsko were conducted at the reactor. Since the last TRIGA Users Conference the reactor was in operation without any larger shut-down. Only troubles with lazy susan was experienced therefore new lazy susan is ordered. (author)
