AbstractAbstract
[en] The generator coordinate formalism is generalized to incorporate optical potentials, coupled waves, and a distorted-wave approximation. An estimate of the importance of recoil is proposed. An analytical illustrative example related to the generator coordinate DWBA is given. (1 figure) (U.S.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The method of the distortion operator developed before is generalized to many-channel scattering. Expressions for cross-sections in terms of the matrix elements of the matrix D are found. For the D-matrix the variational method is developed which is a counterpart of the conventional variational method by Kohn; the method is thought to converge more rapidly. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The standard coupled-reaction-channel formalism for nuclear rearrangement reactions is compared with bound-state approximations obtained by starting from modern N-body scattering theory. This comparison will allow us to clarify the origin of nonorthogonality terms in standard coupled-reaction-channel equations as well as the reason of their absence in N-body formalisms. Contributions neglected by the bound-state approximation are taken into account in a three-body context by introducing interacting-particle representations. Thus interrelations can also be established between different three-body formalisms. (author)

[en] A simple expression for transition probabilities is derived using the modified method of Mehrotra and Boggs. It is shown that this new formula is applied in a wider energy range than the first order Born approximation. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The form of the K-matrix in the distorted-wave (DW) theory is investigated. A simple, closed and exact formula for the tangent of the phase shifts in the framework of the DW theory is obtained. An improved DW Born approximation (IDWBA) based on this formula is suggested. The usefulness of this exact formula in Pade' approximation is mentioned
