AbstractAbstract
[en] Contrary to theoretical predictions and previous experimental results, a new systematic study of the static quadrupole moments Qsub(2+) in the even-mass cadmium isotopes using the re-orientation effect shows no evidence of significant variation in Qsub(2+) with mass number. Assuming positive interference from higher 2+ levels, it is found: Qsub(2+)(106Cd) = 0.32 +- 0.08, Qsub(2+)(110Cd) = -0.36 +- 0.08, Qsub(2+)(112Cd) = -0.42 +- 0.08, Qsub(2+)(114Cd) = -0.38 +- 0.08, Qsub(2+)(116Cd) -0.42 +- 0.08 eb. For 116Cd, B(E2: 0+→2+) 0.532 +- 0.004 e2b2, 20% lower than the previously adopted value. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Experiment to seek double electron capture in 106Cd decay took place in the Modane underground laboratory (4800 m depth). By means of the TGV-2 low-background multidetector spectrometer one investigated into thin (∼ 50 μm thickness) specimens of enriched 106Cd and of natural Cd. On the basis of the preliminary processing of data acquired in 3400 hour course of efforts to measure 10 g of enriched 106Cd (75% enrichment) one determined new limits (90% confidence limit) for various branches of 106Cd decay into ground (0+) and first excited state (2+, 512 keV) of a daughter nucleus. They constitute T1/2(2νβ+EC) ≥ 4.1 x 1019 g and T1//2(2νEC/EC) ≥ 5.6 x 1019 g (for 0+ → 0+, g.s. transitions) and T1/2(2νβ+EC) → 5.8 x 1019 g and T1/2(2νEC/EC) ≥ 2.1 x 1019 g

и T1/2(2νEC/EC) ≥ 5.6 x 1019 г. (для переходов 0+ → 0+, g.s.) и T1/2(2νβ+ЕС) → 5.8 x 1019 г. и T1/2(2νEC/EC) ≥ 2.1 x 1019 гOriginal Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] The level lifetimes have been measured for a shears band of 108Cd that exhibits band crossing. The observed level energies and B(M1) rates have been successfully described by a semiclassical geometric model based on shear mechanism. In this geometric model, the band crossing in the shears band has been described as the reopening of the angle between the blades of a shear.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The spectrum obtained with a coindicence-and-addition gamma-ray spectrometer is free of background, photopeaks, Compton distributions and fortuitous addition peaks, and it is possible to distinguish the addition peaks corresponding to levels. Some new gamma rays observed in the decay of sup(110m)Ag by usual γ-ray spectroscopy are reported

AbstractAbstract
[en] The recently measured lower limit on the transition quadrupole moment Qt of a strongly deformed band in 108Cd is compatible with the value suggested by a simple analytic formula deduced from a binary cluster model. This model indicates that such large deformations should be widespread in the A∼110 region
