AbstractAbstract
[en] A multipurpose roentgenoradiometric analyzer with digital storage and automatic data processing has been developed. The operating principle of the apparatus is described for different conditions. The analyzer has been tested under the production conditions of tin deposits. The reported results of the tests show that with the aid of the proposed unified device one can solve most of the sampling problems, which creates the necessary prerequisites for developing a base model of the multipurpose roentgenoradiometric analyzer for mining

AbstractAbstract
[en] An apparatus is described for the measurement of the radioactivity of the contents of several elongated receptacles supported in a rotatable disc. It has particular application in the measuremet of the radioactivity in tubes held in a centrifuge analyzer. Three conventional scintillation probes are mounted at equal intervals on a base under the rotatable disc. Upon actuation of a drive motor, three tubes are lowered into the probes for a fixed time while counting takes place. The tubes are then raised and advanced, and the process is repeated. (LL)

AbstractAbstract
[en] This document stresses the importance of measuring the radioactivity of the environment in order to evaluate the radiological exposure of the population. The document emphasizes the necessity of detecting very low levels of radioactivity and the difficulties that it implies. The various components of its basis and the means for its reduction are mentioned. Information on the instruments required to identify and quantify the activities of the different radionuclides is given

AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper presents the realization of the Isara 400 ultra-precision 3D coordinate measuring machine, which features a measuring volume of 400 x 400 x 100 mm and a volumetric (3D) measurement uncertainty of 100 nm (2σ). In order to achieve these challenging specifications, specific calibration strategies need to be applied, such as the calibration of flatness and out-of-squareness of the system's mirror table. In addition, a newly developed ultra-precision tactile probe system is described, featuring a probe tip with a diameter of 70 μm; results of the 3D sensitivity calibration of this probe are presented.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Continuous monitoring and assessment of the status of supply-demand in the world market of uranium is an important or even mandatory step for Indonesia, provided the country's serious intention to enter nuclear energy era in the 2000's. This becoming more crucial when considering that there is no new installed capacity of uranium supply being planned in the world. Special attention on the technical and economic aspect of uranium deposit's appraisal could improve both the quality and quantity of the deposit. In this paper the status of our uranium resource were observed technically and economically to improve the quality of the mineral inventory and cost element with different grade and capacity. The result showed that Kalan deposit especially is feasible to be recovered and economic aspects can be optimized by developed technology. The undiscovered uranium resource in geological favorable were quantified by the volumetric and binomial distribution methods. These methods could also be served as exploration tool to select the priority of target area. (author), 5 refs; 5 tabs; 5 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Method for continuous radiochemical analysis of I, Cs, Ba, Sr and Ce isotopes in a reactor water heat-transfer agent was developed. A continuous two-dimensional chromatographic process of complex mixtures separation of substances proved to be feasible on several parallel sorbent layers, which moved at constant velocities and separated by stationary intermediate collectors. Tests on model solutions containing I, Ce, Cs and Ba isotopes and on heat-carrier samples showed quantitative separation of elements. The results were indicative of a basic possibility of using multisorbent chromatographs for continuous control of multicomponent mixtures, particularly for control of radioactive fission product compositions in water heat-transfer agents in nuclear power plants. A diagram is shown for a two-dimensional chromatographic separation of a multicomponent mixture. Also shown is a flow chart of an installation for continuous control of iodine and cesium isotope activities

AbstractAbstract
[en] This standard has application in NDA techniques for the measurement of nuclear materials by the observation of spontaneous or stimulated nuclear radiations. Limitations of such techniques are discussed. Acceptable procedures are presented for the general use of NDA methods, including calibration, error estimation, and measurement assurance. Recommended calibration, operating, and assurance methods represent guiding principles based on current NDA technology. The diversity of industry-wide nuclear materials measurement applications and instrumentation precludes discussion of specific measurement situations. As a result, compliance with practices recommended in the standard must be based on a thorough understanding of contributing variables and performance requirements of the specific measurement application
