AbstractAbstract
[en] The XIIth Rencontre de Moriond has devoted a two-day session to the problem of Color Symmetry and Quark Confinement. The twelve talks given at that session have been collected with an added pedagogical introduction. The review papers summarize the current situation at April-May 1977 about color and how it can be tested experimentally

AbstractAbstract
[en] The problems of high-energy elementary particle physics are discussed. It is pointed out that the modern theory of elementary-particle physics has no solutions of some large physical problems: origin of the mass, electric charge, identity of particle masses, change of the mass of elementary particles in time and others. 7 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Reggeon bootstrap problem of the dual unitary scheme is discussed within the one dimensional approximation. The non-factorizable integral equation for the Reggeon propagator is solved analytically. The Reggeon propagator has many complex poles together with a leading real pole αsub(c1) and is similar to its pole approximation (j - αsub(c1)-1 above the leading pole. The pomeron propagator with the full Reggeon propagator as an input is also briefly discussed. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] It is shown that dual models naturally account for experimentally observed dynamical suppressions and narrow resonance effects, part of which are conventionally interpreted by means of the Zweig-Iizuka rule. Predictions from two specific dual schemes are discussed. i) The linear zero bootstrap, suggested by the data to hold in spin independent amplitudes, which turns out to provide a unified explanation for a large variety of suppression effects experimentally affecting conventional resonances. ii) The generalized Veneziano model, which, in spite of its strong physical limitations, appears to contain a built-in expectation for psi-type effects in its folds, and moreover provides a consistent understanding of the associated experimental features observed in electron-positron annihilation.
