AbstractAbstract
[en] A description of the methodology used for analyzing problems relating to the internal interaction of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) energy is presented. A formal definition of the term internal interaction is made, and the question of how problems in this area are related to the other areas of EMP analysis is illustrated. Various topological concepts useful for decomposing the internal interaction problem into smaller, more manageable problems are also discussed

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this paper, the nonlinear propagation of picosecond chirped pulses in single mode fibers has been investigated both analytically and numerically. Results show that downchirped pulses can be compressed owing to normal group-velocity dispersion. The compression ratio depends both on the initial peak power and on the initial frequency chirp of the input pulse. While the compression ratio depends both on the initial peak power and on the initial frequency chirp of the input pulse. While the compression ratio increases with the negative frequency chirp, it decreases with the initial peak power of the input pulse. This means that the self-phase modulation induced nonlinear frequency chirp which is linear and positive (up-chirp) over a large central region of the pulse and tends to cancel the initial negative chirp of the pulse. It is also shown that, as the negative chirped pulse compresses temporally, it synchronously experiences a spectral narrowing

AbstractAbstract
[en] Pressure and energy balance calculations are described for such a system. Radiofrequency power requirements and maintenance of a superconductor near a thermonuclear plasma are discussed. Some requirements for an actual experiment are given. (MOW)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The numerical results of the primary electric current and the internal electromagnetic pulse were obtained by particle method in the rectanglar cavity. The results obtained from this method is compared with three dimensional Euler-method. It is shown that two methods are in good agreement if the conditions are the same

AbstractAbstract
[en] Tests examining possible synergistic effects of electrical pulses and ionizing radiation on transistors were performed and energy/power thresholds for transistor burnout determined. The effect of ionizing radiation on burnout thresholds was found to be minimal, indicating that electrical pulse testing in the absence of radiation produces burnout-threshold results which are applicable to IEMP studies. The conditions of ionized transistor junctions and radiation induced current surges at semiconductor device terminals are inherent in IEMP studies of electrical circuits
