AbstractAbstract
[en] A wire- cylinder reactor and wire- plate reactor were designed and constructed for generating the corona discharges to be applied to the dissociation of NOx and SOx in the flue gases of combustion engines and power plants. Experiments for the characterization of the corona discharges in air were carried out. To obtain the pulsed voltage shape, a rotary spark gap switch was formed with a DC motor. A discharge circuit was constructed with a resistor (50kΩ ), DC high voltage power supply, a rotary spark gap switch. Two electric probes and voltage probe were installed in order to measure the total current, displacement current, conduction current and applied voltage. The charges, power, and energy in the two reactors were calculated from the measured voltage and current. Also, to find the frequency dependence of the corona discharge, the high frequency (20kHz) and high voltage power supply was used in the wire- cylinder reactor. The each obtained and calculated value from the probes in both reactor cases (high frequency, low frequency ) were compared each other

AbstractAbstract
[en] The chemical composition of residential wood combustion particulate emissions was determined for fireplaces and woodstoves. Burn rates, burn patterns, wood burning appliances, and cordwood types characteristic of Denver, Colorado; Bakersfield, California; and Mammoth Lakes, California, were used during sample collection. Samples were collected using a dilution/cooling system to ensure that condensible compounds were captured. Analyses for 44 chemical species were conducted. Source profiles for use in chemical mass balance (CMB) modeling were calculated from the analytical data. The principal chemical species comprising the profiles were organic compounds and elemental carbon. The minor chemical species were sulfur, chlorine, potassium, sodium, calcium, zinc, nitrate, and ammonium. Virtually all potassium was in a water-soluble form, and sulfur emissions between fireplaces and woodstoves were noted. Area-specific source profiles for fireplaces, woodstoves, and overall residential wood combustion are presented

[en] The advantage of electrochemical processes is that they are highly efficient, avoid or conserve chemicals and hence secondary waste and that the process engineering is simpler. Electrochemical processes are being tested in the following areas of power station operation: Decontamination of radioactive components, water treatment and flue gas scrubbing. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this article, a method is considered to increase the efficiency of boiler room operation with PTVM-180 boilers by the use of a flue gas flue in a condensing economizer. The efficiency evaluation of the utilization of the heat exchanger in accordance with the operating mode of the boiler house was evaluated, and the technical and economic parameters of the project were assessed, depending on the unplanned changes in such key factors as capital costs, operating time, operating mode. AbstractAbstract
[en] Because the amount of waste heat used for comfort heating of the passenger compartment in motor vehicles decreases continuously as a result of the increasing engine efficiencies originating from recent developments in internal combustion engine technology, it is estimated that heat requirement of the passenger compartment in vehicles using future generation diesel engines will not be met by the waste heat taken from the engine coolant. The automotive heat pump (AHP) system can heat the passenger compartment individually, or it can support the present heating system of the vehicle. The AHP system can also be employed in electric vehicles, which do not have waste heat, as well as vehicles driven by a fuel cell. The authors of this paper observed that such an AHP system using ambient air as a heat source could not meet the heat requirement of the compartment when ambient temperature was extremely low. The reason is the decrease in the amount of heat taken from the ambient air as a result of low evaporating temperatures. Furthermore, the moisture condensed from air freezed on the evaporator surface, thus blocking the air flow through it. This problem can be solved by using the heat of engine coolant or exhaust gases. In this case, the AHP system can have a higher heating capacity and reuse waste heat. (author)

[en] Preliminary design of S Ox and N Ox flue gas treatment base on 25% of 400 M We capacity and 90% efficiency reduction of S Ox, the electron beam machine will be utilized to performed the environment quality standard of air pollution. The technical specification of electron beam machine, processing system and chamber dimension should conformed to the regulation. The discussion is focused on the selection of electron beam machine type and the dimension of radiation vessel for perfect reaction and exact time processing. The design calculation is indicated that we need two electron beam machines of 500 m A, 800 kV installed in parallel and 3 up to 3.4 meters diameter, the speed of flue gasses in the vessel around 16.4 up to 18.14 meters per second
