AbstractAbstract
[en] Electrodes of the polycationic film with electropolymerized (Ru(v-bpy)3))2+ having about 1:1 ratio of PF6-/ClO4- as the doped counter ions, were modified with xylenol orange and diethyldithiocarbamate by ion exchange which had stability constant as 38.6 and 17.5 respectively. These electrodes were employed in the quantitative multiple determination of U(VI) in solution. The working electrode of electrochemical cell for the analytical signal was Pt/p-(Ru(v-bpy)3))2+, ligand, U(VI) with Ag/AgCl reference electrode. In the stripping voltammetry, electrode process was electron transfer controlled one and calibration curves at the ranges of 1.0x10-3∼1.0x10-7 M had excellent relationship as 0.99 and relative standard deviation as 5∼8%

AbstractAbstract
[en] The use of beam balance comparisons in fifth force experiments will be discussed. Two possible measurement schemes are described and compared. Particularly noted is that beam balance measurements could be useful for testing models predicting longer range forces. Our balance could achieve an order of magnitude improvement in existing α(λ) limits for this range. The remainder of the discussion will be on our efforts to address the problems of ground vibrations, temperature control to limit thermal drift and noise, and transportability of the balance

AbstractAbstract
[en] Complexing of indium with xylenol orange is studied spectrophotometrically. It has been established that indium forms complexes of the composition 1:1 and 1:2 with this complexon, which exist, respectively, at 1.3 < pH < 2.3 and pH > 2.9. The instability constants of the complexes InH2L- and In(H2L)25-, whose negative logarithms are 14.31 and 24.63, respectively have been determined

AbstractAbstract
[en] A cryogenic torsion balance method is suggested to measure the residual quadrupole moments of the STEP test masses directly. The individual masses are placed on a torsion balance and the torque exerted by a rotating set of source masses is analysed. Conservatively, assuming a torque sensitivity of 10-13 N m, it appears that a quadrupole moment of 10-7 kg m2 can be detected

AbstractAbstract
[en] Small-scale turbulence in toroidal magneto plasmas driven by electron or ion temperature gradient modes is known for its tendency to form strongly anisotropic structures, namely radially elongated vortices called streamers or (mostly) poloidal ExB shear flows called zonal flows. The interaction of such patterns is studied here in the framework of a simple dynamical system, focusing in particular on the initial saturation phase of a streamer. It is shown that the saturation amplitude, in this reduced description, is determined by a balance between the streamer's linear growth rate and the zonal mode's nonlinear growth rate

AbstractAbstract
[en] We give a systematic development of the theory of the radiation field of an accelerated charged particle with reference to an inertial reference frame in flat spacetime. Special emphasis is given to the role of the Schott energy and momentum in the energy-momentum balance of the charge and its field. It is shown that the energy of the radiation field does not, in general, come from the work performed upon the charge by an external force. The radiation energy also receives a contribution from a conversion of the velocity dependent near-field to the acceleration dependent radiation field. We also exhibit the role of momentum conservation in connection with a radiating electric charge and its electromagnetic field

AbstractAbstract
[en] The aim of Technology Assessment (TA) is to measure benefit to risk ratio. The purpose of TA is to study ethical controversies in societal prism. Technology Assessment determines public perception. TA establishes visionary attitude. Technology Assessment alleviates: to highlight creativity of field (Nobel Prize winners, awards and grants); to define unequivocal ethical and legislative statements; to find out readiness for investments by venture capitalists; to recognize stakeholders willingness to benefit from technology; to involve equally all layers of society: government-academy-society-industry; to mantain balance between benefit and risks of technology; to match convergence with simultaneously emerging enabling technologies (cogno-nano-info-bio). AbstractAbstract
[en] The invention has been aimed at a circuitry for the automatic tare balancing at radiometric weigh-feeder belts with digital data processing of the measurement pulse rate emitted by a radiation detector during a measuring cycle. To secure a non-perturbational and exact permanent pulse rate correction by the tare rate the measuring pulse rate is summed up under the operational mode 'taring' for a preselected rotation time of the empty belt and evaluated using a factor related to the length of measuring cycle. The resulting pulses are stored as an average value. Under the operational mode 'weighing' the difference between pulse rate and stored tare pulses will be formed and transmitted to a data processing unit
