AbstractAbstract
[en] We have made personal thermal neutron dosimeter with cadmium covered with CaSO4(Dy) teflon dish which can be simply available. In mixture field where the ratio of thermal neutron and gamma ray dose rate is 2:1, thermal neutron dose may be measured with error less than +-15% from 10 to 104cy. (Author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Based on the results of a pilot study at ORNL in 1973, a more comprehensive international intercomparison of integrating dosimeters for the assessment of external penetrating environmental radiation fields was carried out. Forty-one laboratories from eleven countries participated in this study. A total of 56 sets of six detectors each were mailed to and from Houston, Texas, where they were exposed for three months (July to September 1974) as follows: two in an unprotected space out-of-doors 1 m above ground; two in an air-conditioned shielded area with a known, low exposure rate; and two with the second group, but with an additional exposure to 30 mR. Evaluation of the dosimeters provides information on the calibration precision, the accuracy of field measurement, and transit exposure. Results are discussed. (U.S.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] With modern TL personnel dosimetry systems, dosemeter evaluation can be done quickly and reliably. The measured data are used as a starting point for calculation of the so-called whole-body doses. There the energy dependence of the response must be considered. This can be determined by a suitable calibration. The calibration methods used differ considerably with regard to expenditure and accuracy. Here a calibration procedure meeting the present-day's conditions is described. 2 figs. (Author)
