AbstractAbstract
[en] Given are the results of the calculation of increments and the thermodynamic properties of monosulphides of rare earth elements. The invariance of the equations of the method of comparative calculations makes it possible to write new equations for the relationships of the physicochemical values in the same scale of values as the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. By considering rare earth element chalcogenides, a new kind of previously unknown regularities has been found, said regularities permitting the calculation of the characteristic temperature, the melting point and the refraction index

AbstractAbstract
[en] Three-dimensional radiation distribution patterns were studied experimentally in an axisymmetric laminated scattering medium with a reflecting surface after exposure to radiation from a diffuse source of finite dimensions. Regions were noted in which the magnitude of spatial irradiation was considerably greater than in a vacuum, and the ''accumulation'' effect was analysed. The influence which the optical properties of the scattering medium and reflecting surface have on the space structure of the radiation was assessed. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We study the influence of the anisotropy of electrical properties on the propagation of the plane waves in a plasma with high temperatures, when the radiative processes are taken into account. Two cases of particular interest are considered in more detail. These are the cases when the waves propagation vector is directed along the magnetic field or is orthogonal to it. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A theory of ν-oscillations in matter with different density distributions is advanced. The authors describe resonant amplification of ν-oscillations, oscillations in the adiabatic regime, oscillationless transformation of a ν-beam, and other effects. Divergence of ν-wave packets in matter is considered. Some applications of the theory are discussed. 17 refs.; 8 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] A modeling method to treat the added mass caused by the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) in terms of the equivalent structural density is proposed. The magnitude of the equivalent mass is defined by the added mass matrix based on the 2-D potential flow theory, and the corresponding density is applied to perform eingenvalue analyses. To provide the validity of the proposed method, the eigenvalue analyses upon the two coaxial cylindrical shells coupled with a fluid gap are performed. The result on the varying fluid gap reveals that the proposed method provides is suitable to expect the fundamental frequencies of two cylinders

AbstractAbstract
[en] A novel information theory based method for determining the density of states from prior information is presented. The energy dependence of the density of states is determined from the observed number of states per energy interval, and model calculations suggest that the method is sufficiently reliable to calculate the thermal properties of nuclei over a reasonable temperature range
