[en] Most of the scientific tasks of the institute were carried out with the Tandem accelerator. The investigations with polarized particles in the field of nuclear physics were particularly successful in explaining the reaction mechanisms in the presence of resonances. In heavy-ion physics, the study of intermediary structures below the Coulomb wall gave clear indications on α-particle states. Meson effects with g factors of excited nuclear states could even be found in local investigations. The Lambshift source, developed in the institute, was newly set up for the installation on the Tandem based on the experience gained on the test model. As the energy and radiation time of the Erlangen accelerator is not sufficient for many experiments, experiments were carried out externally on accelerators in Karlsruhe and Hamburg on the one hand, and, on the other hand, laboratory experiments on the Moessbauer effect and with atomic beams were intensified. Die wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten des Institutes wurden ueberwiegend mit dem Tandem-Beschleuniger durchgefuehrt. Besonders erfolgreich waren auf dem Gebiet der Kernphysik die Untersuchungen mit polarisierten Teilchen, um die Reaktionsmechanismen bei Anwesenheit von Resonanzen zu klaeren. In der Schwerionenphysik hat das Studium intermediaerer Strukturen unterhalb des Coulombwalls deutliche Hinweise auf α-Teilchenzustaende geliefert. Mesonische Effekte bei g-Faktoren angeregter Kernzustaende konnten auch in hiesigen Untersuchungen gefunden werden. Die im Institut entwickelte Lambshift-Quelle wurde fuer die Installation am Tandem auf Grund der am Versuchsmodell gewonnenen Erfahrungen neu aufgebaut. Da fuer viele Experimente Energie und Strahlzeit des Erlanger Beschleunigers nicht ausreicht, wurde einerseits an auswaertigen Beschleunigern in Karlsruhe und Hamburg experimentiert, andererseits wurden Laborexperimente zum Moessbauereffekt und mit Atomstrahlen intensiviert.
