AbstractAbstract
[en] A pharmaceutical radioactive capsule and a method of filling the capsule are claimed. The capsule is formed of a nontoxic, water soluble material adapted to being ingested and rapidly disintegrating on contact with fluids of the gastro-intestinal tract, and having a filler material supporting a pharmaceutically useful radioactive compound absorbable from the gastro-intestinal tract

AbstractAbstract
[en] In Frame of the Joint Irradiation Program IVO-FR2 between the Nuclear Research Centre of Karlsruhe (RFA) and the Junta de Energia Nuclear (Spain) is carried out in the FR2 reactor (Karlsruhe) the irradiation of 12 mixed-oxide fuel rods of 172 mm length. These test rods are first irradiated under various conditions in four modified FR2 capsule (Typ 7). Two versions of single-walled NaK (78% K) are used for this purpose. This report contains the design and description of these two capsule versions as well as the considerations required to oftain the operations licence, supplemented by the relevant figures. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Inner and outer welding processes of irradiation chamber require reliable human resources so that the welding results will meet the standardized requirements for irradiation with nuclear reactor. The control system of the inner and outer welding processes of the irradiation chamber was made due to limited human resources who are able to weld the irradiation chamber perfectly. The irradiation chamber’s welding is expected to be done automatically by using the system control. The system is created by using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) which function is to automatically organize the welding processes through the codes attached there in. The system comprises of a control unit which has been tested in a simulation, and then attached in a welding machine unit, and subsequently tested for welding the irradiation chamber. The result of the welding is also tested for its leak using bubble test. As all procedures are well followed in the welding processes, the control system is found to work properly. The welding results which are not optimum are mainly due to imperfect irradiation tubes, such as the lack of symmetry in the tube’s geometry, unclean surface, as well as the condition of the unprecise mechanical part of the tubes. AbstractAbstract
[en] The first instrumented capsule (97M-01K) was designed and successfully fabricated. The purposes of the capsule were to evaluate the nuclear characteristics of the test holes and to obtain design data for nuclear reactor material capsule. There are 5 stages having specimens and independent electric heaters in the capsule. The temperatures of the capsule parts were controlled by He pressure in the capsule and heater power, and in-situ monitored through 12 thermocouples. 4 sets of Fe-Ni and Al-Co neutron fluence monitors were also inserted in the capsule to evaluate the thermal and fast neutron fluences. The capsule was fabricated in DAEWOO Precision Co. according to KAERI detail design specifications. This report describes the details of design, fabrication and inspection of 97M-01K capsule. This capsule was irradiated in the CT and I R2 test holes of HANARO and disassembled in the IMEF facility for the following material evaluation tests. (Author). 26 refs., 15 tabs., 8 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Post-irradiation examinations(PIEs) ought to be performed to evaluate the neutron irradiation effects and performance of advanced nuclear fuels and structural steels, which were researched and developed by nuclear mid- and long-term atomic energy R and D program. Since 1998 total thirteen(13) non-instrumented or instrumented HANARO capsules for nuclear fuels and structural steels have been carried out in IMEF. The PIEs for nuclear fuel capsules are such as irradiation rig dismantling, dimension measurement, gamma-scanning test, metallurgy, hardness test, density measurement, and SEM/EPMA. For structural steel capsules, destructive tests have been tested such as impact test, small tensile test, PCVN, hardness, metallurgy, SEM/EPMA, and TEM
