AbstractAbstract
[en] While up to now a glove had to be permanently fixed to each glove box opening, the combined device makes it possible for the openings to be normally closed using a closing lid and only to be provided quickly and safely with a glove when necessary. The closures seal the glove box better and more safely externally than the gloves themselves, as these become porous and therefore leaky after a relatively short time. As the price of the special gloves is very high, the combined glove change and closing device gives a considerable cost saving. (orig./HP)

(orig./HP)Original Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] Two lids coupled together of a system of two containers contaminated on the inside form a frustrum of a cone with an outer surface decreasing smoothly in the same direction. The seats for these lids form two openings of the containers of the frustrum of a cone-shaped jacket matched to the jacket of the two coupled lids. The outsides of the two lids and the outsides of the containers form a surface in the same plane as the openings in the annular regions of at least one of the jacket surfaces of the frustrum of a cone or the seats of the frustrum of a cone jacket. AbstractAbstract
[en] Gastight utility plugs for the shielding walls of hot cells are mainly used for the passage of mechanical actuating mechanisms, for electric cables, for the passage of liquid and gaseous media and for purposes of visual inspection. The plugs are normally inserted in steel or brass casings. The design requirements for such plugs are: (a) safe prevention of the contamination of the operating room located in front of the Hot Cell: (b) mutual replaceability of plugs (for example, a mechanical plug must be capable of replacement by an electric plug); (c) the radiation shield of the utility plugs must be equivalent to an 85 cm or 110 cm thick baryte concrete wall having a density of 3.5 t/m3; (d) excellent gastight properties are required in order to ensure that the vacuum underpressure of 10-15 mm H20 inside the Hot Cell cannot entrain air from the outside. A design solution which meets these requirements for a mechanical utility plug is described. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A valve with a rotating plug, in particular a large size valve, e.g. but not exclusively, for circulating noxious fluids is described. That valve is characterized in that the plug is pivotable without friction and comprises a flange carrying a closing member, the latter being applied against a sealing seat by means of a deformable bellow actuated from outside by pressurized fluid. The valve according to the invention can be used in particular for circulating uranium hexafluoride in the gaseous state
