AbstractAbstract
[en] Local-area communication networks represent a new field of activity. In this paper we first describe three scenarios for the use of these networks, and then discuss various technical approaches. Particular emphasis is put on bus and ring systems with various media access control mechanisms. Specifically, we compare the delay-throughput characteristic of two access methods, carrier-sense multiple access with collision detection and token passing, and discuss some significant differences of bus and ring systems concerning wiring, media, transmission, and reliability. AbstractAbstract
[en] Two computer networks are considered within this paper: HMINETI, operating since 1976 and HMINET II, being under development since 1979. The first one will be fully replaced by the second one at the end of 1981. This paper describes the reasons and underlying difficulties of such a step. Additionally, structural dissimilarities between the higher-level protocols of local and open networks are described. Some analytical techniques for forecasting performance values and costs are denoted thereby. (orig.)

[en] We discuss analysis on SSL (Security Socket Layer) protocols in this paper. In order to improve capability of SSL Sniffer, we do some change to SSL Sniffer so that it can be used efficiently and easily in the 'sniffer' mode. Some tests have been done and the result is satisfactory. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In this work, we study the fractal and multifractal properties of a family of fractal networks introduced by Gallos et al (2007 Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. USA 104 7746). In this fractal network model, there is a parameter e which is between 0 and 1, and allows for tuning the level of fractality in the network. Here we examine the multifractal behavior of these networks, the dependence relationship of the fractal dimension and the multifractal parameters on parameter e. First, we find that the empirical fractal dimensions of these networks obtained by our program coincide with the theoretical formula given by Song et al (2006 Nature Phys. 2 275). Then from the shape of the τ(q) and D(q) curves, we find the existence of multifractality in these networks. Last, we find that there exists a linear relationship between the average information dimension < D(1)>> and the parameter e. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A continuum opinion dynamic model is presented based on two rules. The first one considers the mobilities of the individuals, the second one supposes that the individuals update their opinions independently. The results of the model indicate that the bounded confidence inc, separating consensus and incoherent states, of a scale-free network is much smaller than the one of a lattice. If the system can reach the consensus state, the sum of all individuals' opinion change Oc(t) quickly decreases in an exponential form, while if it reaches the incoherent state finally Oc(t) decreases slowly and has the punctuated equilibrium characteristic
