[en] In a repository for spent fuel a shaft hoisting system is to be built for a transport unit (waste package and vehicle) with a total weight of 85 t. At present no suitable hoisting equipment for 85 metric tons is available anywhere in the world. To establish its technical maturity a preliminary design was carried out. More than 100 shaft hoisting facilities in operation were analyzed in a 'reference study'. The result is that nearly all main components of the shaft hoisting facility can be referred to facilities in operation. Only very few components with special requirements for a repository must be built up in a prototype scale and tested to establish its maturity

[en] The remote handling device consists of a bridge crane and a manipulator support system at a lower level. In order to improve maintenance and repairs, the remote handling system is built up of individual system components. The movable components can be separated from the chassis frame. Die Fernhantierungseinrichtung besteht aus einem Brueckenlaufkran und einem in einer tieferen Ebene angeordneten Manipulatortraegersystem. Um die Selbstwartung bzw. Eigeninstandhaltung zu verbessern, wird die Fernhantierungseinrichtung aus einzelnen Systembaugruppen aufgebaut. Die verfahrbaren Baugruppen sind von ihren Fahrwerkrahmen trennbar. Deren Antriebseinheiten bleiben bei dem Ausbau der Baugruppen an diesen Baugruppen. Die Fahrwerkrahmen verbleiben an dem jeweiligen Brueckentraeger oder Fuehrungsteil ohne Antriebseinheit.
