AbstractAbstract
[en] Many labs try to boost existing data acquisition systems by inserting high performance intelligent devices in the important nodes of the system's structure. This strategy finds its limits in the system's architecture. The CHADAC project proposes a simple and efficient solution to this problem, using a multiprocessor modular architecture. CHADAC main features are: a) Parallel acquisition of data: CHADAC is fast; it dedicates one processor per branch; each processor can read and store one 16 bit word in 800 ns. b) Original structure: each processor can work in its own private memory, in its own shared memory (double access) and in the shared memory of any other processor (this feature being particulary useful to avoid wasteful data transfers). Simple and fast communications between processors are also provided by local DMA'S. c) Flexibility: each processor is autonomous and may be used as an independent acquisition system for a branch, by connecting local peripherals to it. Adjunction of fast trigger logic is possible. By its architecture and performances, CHADAC is designed to provide a good support for local intelligent devices and transfer operators developped elsewhere, providing a way to implement systems well fitted to various types of data acquisition. AbstractAbstract
[en] The CAMAC crate autonomous controller JCAM-10 is designed around an INTEL 8080 microprocessor in association with a RAM and REPROM memory. The concept of the module is described. Data transfers between CAMAC modules and the memory are optimised. In fact, the JCAM-10 is a microcomputer with a set of 1000 peripheral units represented by the CAMAC modules commercially available

AbstractAbstract
[en] The AUTOCAT system is designed to perform the following two main tasks: - Orientation in the input data representing a given journal, or relevant contents thereof, with the main purpose of the identification process being to yield a task-specific interpretation of all relevant parts of text. - Transformation of the information units found in the input data into the AUTOCAT output format, in accordance with the INIS Cataloguing Rules. Since the processing structure largely depends on the (static) structure of journals, the representation of the object structure of the various physics core journals selected for the project is of great importance. Among the various representation concepts available, frames are particularly suited for use as an underlying data structure. So the frame concept of Minsky will be modified and enhanced to meet the specific requirements of the project. The basic information for data handling. i.e. identification and cataloguing, will be codified to rules and integrated into the frame concept. Realisation is planned to be in PROLOG. (orig./WB)

(orig./WB)Original Title

AbstractAbstract
[en] The dosimetry laboratory of NRCN employs a 2271 Harshaw automatic TLD card reader. The system logic performs only basic parity checks of the data which is sent to the peripheral equipment, besides the upper and lower dose limit alarms. Other errors may remain undetected until the data analysis stage. A pc computer was connected to the automatic card reader system. The pc computer controls the operation of the system while receiving, checking and recording the data on a magnetic media. A serial number is given to each record and other specifications as date, unit and type of analysis are also added to the data file. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Following a previous report, the authors present a more perfected apparatus for bone mineral measurement on femoral shaft. They also explain the informatic system they have developped, which involves a microprocessing unit. This microprocessor stores up to ten examination; then it is connected to a central computer, which realizes the various calculations needed for femoral bone densitometry. The advantage of such a peripherical unit is discussed

[en] The implementation of a modern game-console controller as a data acquisition interface for physics experiments is discussed. The investigated controller is equipped with three perpendicular accelerometers and a built-in infrared camera to evaluate its own relative position. A pendulum experiment is realized as a demonstration of the proposed approach
