AbstractAbstract
[en] An automatic thyroid disease diagnostic system was developed and is based on a unique approach to simulating human judgement. The intuitive judgement and knowledge of physicians is the basis for creating multiple judgement spaces to provide a diagnosis of thyroid diseases. The system can render judgements, for cases it has never before encountered

AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper focuses on new technologies that are practically useful for telemedicine. Three representative systems are introduced: a Digital Video Transport System (DVTS), an H.323 compatible videoconferencing system, and Vidyo. Based on some of our experiences, we highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each technology, and point out technologies that are especially targeted at doctors and technicians, so that those interested in using similar technologies can make appropriate choices and achieve their own goals depending on their specific conditions.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Mammography is a basic modality for the detection of early breast cancer and a prior technique for its prevention and screening in asymptomatic women population after 40 year of age. The aim of mammography is to reduce mortality in women with breast cancer. Mammography is not used only for diagnostic purpose, either, is widely used for interventional procedures as core biopsy and vacuum assisted biopsy. The authors point out a new technic such as digital mammography. The higher sensitivity and specificity should be qualified by optimalisation and standardisation of the diagnostic process, based on the integrated and interdisciplinary approach, and on the quality control. The article gives an information about the present state and perspective trends in mammodiagnostics in Slovakia. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] This study puspose was to investigate the clinical, radiological and immunogenetical parameters from a brazilian Reiter's Syndrome population. Twenty Reiter's Syndrome patients from ''Hospital das Clinicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Sao Paulo'' were prospectivelly studied in their demographical (sex, race, age at study, age at disease onset and disease duration), epidemiological (family history), clinical (general, articular, mucocutaneous, genitourinary, ocular and intestinal manifestations besides functional capacity at study), radiological (sacro-iliitis, spondylitis and calcaneal spur) and immunogenetical (HLA loci A, B and DR typing). The technique employed in the 61 aloantigens from loci HLA A (17), B (34) and DR (10) typing was Terasaki microlymphocitotoxicity modified by Danilovs, had being performed in the ''Laboratorio de Imunogenetica da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Sao Paulo''. We concluded that the clinical, radiological and immunogenetical Reiter's Syndrome expression in the brazilian population is similar to the others north american or european already studied populations and that the probability of one brazilian HLA B27 positie individual to develop Reiter's Syndrome is 19 fold larger when compared to one brazilian HLA B27 negative individual.
