AbstractAbstract
[en] Azerbaijan is one of the countries which has natural resources and is rich in the mineral underground water. At present, the thermal energy (45 degree C - 94 degree C) of these sources is not used. In this article, the content of radionuclides in the samples of thermal water taken from the Goranboy region was studied. The result shows that the radioactivity in the sample of water is less than the permissible limit and the studied underground water source does not pose a threat in terms of radioactivity when using.

AbstractAbstract
[en] A method is suggested of stabilization of a scintillation gamma spectrometer recording scattered gamma radiation. Ratio of two spectral intensities is used as a reference value so as to disregard an additional reference source. Those intensities have been selected on a sharply declining section of the recorded scattered gamma radiation spectrum and in the region where the shape of the recorded spectrum does not vary irrespective of the changeable properties of the scattering medium and energy of primary gamma radiation sources

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of the distribution of U (Ra), Th and K radionuclides in soils, as well as in different parts of the tobacco plant in the Sheki-Zagatala zone of the Azerbaijan Republic are presented. It was revealed that the specific activity of these radionuclides corresponds to sanitary standards and does not exceed the maximum permissible values.

[en] Full Text: Distribution of radionuclides along the Kur river and in it's some inflows on territory of Azerbaijan via gamma-spectrometer method has been investigated. The results of gamma spectrometer analysis for the contents radionuclides (Ra-226, Ra-228, K-40, co-60, Cs-134, Cs-137) in soil, bottom sediment have been given. It was determined that basically radionuclides collect in bottom sediment

AbstractAbstract
[en] The growth of gamma spectrometry sets the need to seek joint solutions to the problems posed by the purchase of measuring systems adapted to particular uses and the replacement of existing systems. With this in mind, thirteen laboratories have compiled the specifications for instrumentation corresponding to their requirements. The Working Group can provide, on request, a detailed documentation corresponding to this paper

AbstractAbstract
[en] The invention deals with gamma-spectrometry and it can be used in small-channel gamma-spectrometers intended for determination of concentration of radioactive elements in different media (for example, in rocks). The gamma-spectrometer comprises amplitude analyzer, at least one main detector of gamma-radiation and an additional detector of gamma-radiation. The purpose of the invention is simplification of the equipment and increase of measuring accuracy. This purpose is attained due to the fact that outlets of each channel of the amplitude analyzer are connected with the inlets of two units of time coincidences the second inlets of which are connected to the outlets of the main and additional detectors. The latter ones are connected with the inlet of the small-channel amplitude analyzer by means of the mixing device
