AbstractAbstract
[en] The negative parity energy levels of the even-even Ge isotopes with mass number between 64 and 76 are studied systematically by enlarging the model space of the interacting boson approximation model to include both collective and noncollective basis states. The basis states consist of NB-1 sd-boson plus a f-boson configuration and NB-1 sd boson plus a fermion pair configuration. The fermions are allowed to occupy the f5/2 and g9/2 single-particle orbitals, respectively. It was found that the negative parity energy levels of 64-76Ge nuclei can be described reasonably well. The intensities of the collective configuration in 3- states increase when going from nucleus 64Ge to nucleus 72Ge and decrease from nucleus 72Ge to nucleus 74Ge. The B(E3;31-→01+) values are calculated and compared with the available observed data

AbstractAbstract
[en] The melting point (Tm) of germanium stable isotopes 72Ge, 73Ge, 74Ge, 76Ge was determined by differential scanning calorimetry. With the increase in atomic mass of isotope the decrease in Tm is observed. The decrease was equal to 0.15 °C per the unit of atomic mass which qualitatively agrees with the value calculated by Lindemann formula accounting for the effect of “isotopic compression” of elementary cell.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Differential cross sections and vector analyzing powers were measured at an incident deuteron energy of 12.0 MeV for the 70727476Ge(d,p)71737577Ge reactions. The data were compared with the predictions of the Distorted-Wave Born Approximation. From the observed j-dependence exhibited in the angular distributions of vector analyzing power, it has been possible to make spin and parity assignments from a comparison between the data and DWBA predictions. Definitive spin and parity assignments were made to 12 states in 71Ge, 18 states in 73Ge, 13 states in 75Ge and 11 states in 77Ge. Among the 54 states studied in this work, there are 7 2P3/2 states, 1 1F5/2 state, 8 2P1/2 states, 5 1G9/2 states, 19 2D5/2 states. 1 1G7/2 state, 9 3S1/2 states and 4 2D3/2 states. Nineteen of these states had not been assigned, or had been assigned incorrectly in previous investigations. For each state studied, the spectroscopic factor was obtained and a simple sum rule analysis was applied to the data

AbstractAbstract
[en] Scattering of 31.5 MeV α-particles from the stable even Ge isotopes has been studied with an energy resolution of 15-20 keV FWHM. Angular distributions were measured for excitation energies of up to 5.2 MeV. Most of the levels are well described by collective DWBA calculations with vibrational model form factors. An implicit folding procedure was used to derive isoscalar transition rates. The distribution of the isoscalar multipole strength reveals an increasing fragmentation with increasing neutron number. A detailed comparison with the spectroscopic results of a recent (p,p') study is made. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The mass spectrometric analysis of germanium isotope by a boat-filament ion source, adding silica-gel mixture to germanium dioxide to enhance the measurable ion beam, is reported. The methods of correcting the germanium isotopic ratios for the mass fractionation and electron multiplier discrimination are described in detail. The results of natural germanium isotopic abundances are 70Ge = 20.50%, 72Ge = 27.48%, 73Ge = 7.76%, 76Gd = 36.51%, and 76Ge = 7.75%, respectively
