AbstractAbstract
[en] A duopigatron ion source is modified by replacing the normal oxide-coated wire filament cathode of the ion source with a hot tungsten oven through which hydrogen gas is fed into the arc chamber. The hydrogen gas is predissociated in the hot oven prior to the arc discharge, and the recombination rate is minimized by hot walls inside of the arc chamber. With the use of the above modifications, the atomic H1 + ion fraction output can be increased from the normal 50% to greater than 70% with a corresponding decrease in the H2 + and H3 + molecular ion fraction outputs from the ion source

AbstractAbstract
[en] Dissociative recombination of H3+ (υ = 0) leading to H2+ + H- has been measured and the results are found to agree with earlier measurements by another group. A discussion is given on the measurement of recombination reactions using beam techniques. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The preliminary results obtained from study on positive and negative hydrogen ion generation in thermo ionic discharge produced plasma confined superficially by magnetic multi dipole fields are presented. In the discharge interior Langmuir electrostatic probe was inserted for measuring H-, H+, H2+ and H3+ concentrations in a plasma obtained from mixtures of argon and hydrogen gases. (M.C.K.)

[en] Inclusive cross sections of the hydrogen isotope formations are obtained in different topological channels of oxygen nuclei decay in interactions with protons at 3.25 A GeV/s by full geometry condition. It is shown that inclusive cross sections of proton formation are proportional both the topological cross sections and the residual nucleus charge. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Rutherford backscattering spectrum of protons in H2+, H3+ cluster ions have been measured in channeling directions <100> and <110> of silicon crystal. It has been found that, under the same velocity of 650 keV/p, the backscattering probability for protons of H2+ cluster ions is greater than that of H+ projectile, and the backscattering probability for protons of H3+ is greater than that of H2+. The ratio of backscattering yields of channeling direction to that of random direction is defined and the depth dependence of ratio distribution is calculated

AbstractAbstract
[en] Experiments are described using a cylindrical sector energy analyser to measure the stopping power of 5 to 10 μg cm-2 carbon foils for atomic and molecular hydrogen ions. The incident energies of the ions varied between 100 and 300 keV amu-1 and precautions were taken to avoid foil thickening due to contamination effects. A ratio of the stopping for H2+ ions to that for protons of 1.06 +- 0.03 was obtained rather than values up to 1.3 suggested in the literature. Stopping powers for protons at the lower energies were observed to be higher than those given in tabulated data. (author)
