AbstractAbstract
[en] IRAC focal plane detector technology was developed and studies of alternate focal plane configurations were supported. While any of the alternate focal planes under consideration would have a major impact on the Infrared Array Camera, it was possible to proceed with detector development and optical analysis research based on the proposed design since, to a large degree, the studies undertaken are generic to any SIRTF imaging instrument. Development of the proposed instrument was also important in a situation in which none of the alternate configurations has received the approval of the Science Working Group

AbstractAbstract
[en] The article discusses the additive-multiplicative fixed-pattern noise model of the infrared photodetector and a new way of its compensation, invariant to a change in exposure time. Examples of images showing the effectiveness of a new method for compensating fixed-pattern noise when the exposure time of a photodetector is changed are given. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The change in properties and structure of low-density polyethylene(PEt) caused by γ-irradiation and the influence of the media such as air, vacuum, nitrogen and water on it at the absorption dose from 0 to 1MGy were investigated. By measuring solubility, molecular weight, gel-fraction and swelling degree of the radiated samples, crosslinking of PEt was determined, on the basis of it the relative efficiency of irradiation media was estimated. It was proved that the irradiation crosslinking of PEt in the air medium is not possible, and that water is a best medium for the irradiation crosslinking. By means of IR spectroscopy the change in amorphous content (absorption increase at 1300cm-1 and 1375cm-1), the increase of trans-vinylene content (at 946cm-1), and the decrease of vinyl (at 908cm-1) and vinylidene content were confirmed and the chemical reaction mechanism of the radiation modification was suggested. AbstractAbstract
[en] The complete characterization of complex imaging spectrometers, such as VIRTIS-M (visual infrared thermal imaging spectrometer) aboard the Rosetta mission, requires a detailed and prolonged activity starting with the instrument integration and continuing during the entire operational life of the experiment. In this article we report the main experimental activities realized during the on-ground characterizations to evaluate the spectral and geometric performances in order to check the conformance with the technical requirements derived from the scientific goals of the experiment. Spectral calibrations allow to confirm instrumental spectral range, resolution, and sampling; geometric calibrations are necessary to estimate the pixel and slit functions, field of view extension, and possible optical aberrations. Two separate sections are dedicated to each one of these subjects, including the strategy followed to prepare measurements, a basic description of the on-ground experimental setups, and the analysis of the collected data

AbstractAbstract
[en] The invention belongs to scanning devices and is intended for spectrum scanning in spectral devices. The purpose of the invention is broadening of spectral scanning range. The device construction ensures the spectrum scanning range determined from revolution fractions to several revolutions of the monochromator drum head, any number of the drum head revolutions determined by integral number with addition of the drum revolution fractions with high degree of accuracy being possible

AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper presents a study of the Aristarchus region on the Moon by means of imaging spectroscopy data. It reports the albedo, UVVIS continuum and 0.9-1 μm absorption band maps, showing the complex pattern of Aristarchus crater ejecta and the distribution of surrounding materials. The extension of the dark mantling deposits presents on Aristarchus plateau is well shown from the data, appearing very red and with a uniform distribution of the 0.9-1 μm band. By using principal component analysis and clustering techniques the authors have identified seven different spectral regions. The plateau is composed of two distinct spectral units, while Aristarchus and its ejecta blanket show a complete distribution of both feldspatic and basaltic materials

AbstractAbstract
[en] Some urazole lanthanide complexes of Ln2 (urazole)3 composition were prepared (Ln=Pr, Nd and Ho) and characterized by their physical and chemical properties, analytical procedure and infrared spectroscopy; On the basis of spectral data it may be suggested that the coordination of tripositive lanthanide ions to the organic ligand occurs through the carbonyl group oxygen. IR data analysis indicates, as well, that one of the three urazole N-H groups suffers deprotonation. The structure of the complexes seems to be polymeric, however X-ray cristal diffraction is imperative for a conclusive determination. (author)
