AbstractAbstract
[en] EURADOS was set up to foster European collaboration in research and development on radiation dosimetry. It is primarily concerned with advancing the scientific understanding and technical development of the dosimetry of ionising radiation in the fields of radiation protection, radiobiology, radiation therapy and medical diagnosis by the stimulation of collaboration between European laboratories, especially between those of the European Communities. Its specific objectives are: (a) the stimulation of the collaboration in research and technical developments concerning the measurement and evaluation of exposures to ionising radiations; (b) the harmonisation of methods of assessing radiation exposures by means of intercomparisons, workshops seminars and by active collaboration; (c) the collection and evaluation of physical data relevant to the assessment of the biological effects of ionising radiations and to the assessment of occupational and environmental exposures; and (d) the support of transfer of expertise in radiation dosimetry from experienced laboratories to others and in particular to young scientists, by organising seminars and tutorials. AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper reviews sub group B's 11 tasks, commenting upon each and noting what work remains to be done and the procedure adopted for completing it. The majority of the tasks have been completed and it was decided that further consideration of their assessment of proliferation resistance, institutional and safeguards questions and the economic assessment of reprocessing be carried out jointly with sub group A. It was also agreed that all further meetings of sub group B should take place jointly with sub group A
