AbstractAbstract
[en] In this work we present liquid scintillation counting efficiency tables for several radionuclides with single isomeric transitions, in which electron conversion and gamma emission processes are competitive. We study the radionuclides: ''58m CO, ''77mSE, ''79mBR, ''87mSR,''89mY,''93mNB,''103mRh, ''107mAG, ''109mAG, ''113mIn, ''131mXe; ''133mXe,''135mBa, ''167mEr, for two different scintillators, Ultima-Gold and Insta-Gel. We consider volumes of 10 and 15 mL for Ultima gold, and 15 mL for Insta-Gel

[en] The K-conversion coefficient of the 155 keV (M3) isomeric transition in the decay of 112In was measured using the normalized peak to gamma method. The αK value is found to be 4.82±0.29 in agreement with the theoretical value of 5.12. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The decay of the metastable state in 84Rb has been studied bymeans of the 85Rb(n,2n)84Rb and the 85Rb( ,n)84Rb reactions. A possible but very weak feeding of excited states in 84Kr directly from the metastable state is suggested. The cross sections for the (n,2n), (n,p) and (n,α) reactions of the target nuclei 85Rb and 87Rb were measured by the activation method with 14.8 MeV neturons. (author)

[en] The quadrupole interaction frequency of the high-K five-quasiparticle isomer in 179W implanted in a Tl host at a temperature of 473 K has been determined using the LEMS method. A value of 65.7(7.5) MHz has been found. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We show how a gamma-ray laser might be made by optically exciting a transfer of population from a long-lived isomer to an energetically adjacent short-lived state of the same nucleus. We compare the advantages of using transitions of high multipolarity versus transitions of low multi-polarity. Preliminary numerical investigations of the mechanism show it to be somewhat favorable. 35 refs., 4 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The measurement of the half-life of the 3+ isomer of 124In using an MCA-computer system is described. Only the simplest of interfacing techniques is employed. The half-life of the isomer was found to be 3.3 +- 0.3 s. (orig.)
