AbstractAbstract
[en] The absorptive kaon photoproduction model of Tanabe, Kohno, and Bennhold is examined. It is found that this model predicts the wrong sign for the target polarization observable. It is further found that this problem can be remedied within the model's original form. The model is therefore quite flexible. Comparisons are made with recent calculations

AbstractAbstract
[en] We consider the decay characteristics of the D0,+-mesons into semi-leptonic channels using the methods of Lepage and Brodsky for high-energy processes in QCD. We find that the recent data from the Mark III Collaboration on FK+/Fπ+ and FKS-KL/FK+ are consistent with the ratio of absolute rates Γ(D+→anti e+νe+X)Γ(D0→anti e+νe+X)≅1.5. Here FA is the electromagnetic form factor of A, A=KS-KL, K+, π+. It follows that the recent Mark III result BR(D+→anti e+νe+X)/BR(D0→anti e+νe+X)≅2.27 is consistent with the ratio of lifetimes τD+/τD0≅1.51. In order to provide a check of our methods, we note that the methods predict the ratio of the longitudinal alignment to the transverse alignment for the produced K*'s in the process D→anti e+νe+K* to be ≅1/1.46 and 1/1.28 for D+ and D0 respectively. We encourage experimentalists to look for such polarization characteristics. A more stringent check on our work would be a precise set of data on the kaon energy distributions in D0→anti l+νe+K- and in D+→anti l+νl+anti K0, l=e, μ. The comparison between the theory and the limited observations which now exist is not obviously an unacceptable one

AbstractAbstract
[en] The DAΦNE electron-positron collider at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati of INFN has made available a unique-quality low-energy negative-kaons 'beam'. The SIDDHARTA experiment used this beam to perform unprecedented precision measurements on kaonic atoms, while the AMADEUS experiment plans to perform in the coming years precision measurements on kaon-nuclei interactions at low-energies, in particular to study the kaonic nuclei. The two experiments are briefly presented in this paper.

AbstractAbstract
[en] The AMADEUS experiment aims to perform dedicated precision studies in the sector of low-energy kaon-nuclei interaction at the DAΦNE collider at LNF-INFN. In particular the experiment plans to perform measurements of the so-called deeply bound kaonic nuclei (by stopping kaons in cryogenic gaseous targets 3He and 4He) and to study the low-energy interaction of negative kaons in various targets. The AMADEUS dedicated setup will be installed inside the KLOE drift chamber.
