AbstractAbstract
[en] We propose the reference section method to obtain a geometric phase for the mixed states in nonunitary evolution. The reference connection on density operator space is defined. That the parallel transport method and reference section method are essentially two aspects of in phase concept is pointed out. (paper)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We show that Wu-Yang theory of fully quantized four-wave mixing can be generalized to the six-wave mixing and derive the analytical solution of the coupled equations describing the quantum dynamics of six-wave mixing.

AbstractAbstract
[en] Mixing between the 23S1 and 13D1 Ds is studied within the 3P0 model. If mixing between these two 1- states exists, Ds1* (2700)± and DsJ* (2860)± could be interpreted as the two orthogonal mixed states with mixing angle θ≈-80° in the case of a special β for each meson. However, in the case of a universal β for all mesons, Ds1* (2700)± could be interpreted as the mixed state of 23S1 and 13D1 with mixing angle 12° < θ < 21° but Ds*J (2860)± seems difficult to interpret as the orthogonal partner of Ds1* (2700)±. AbstractAbstract
[en] The ASGARD project (2012-2016) was designed to tackle the challenge of the different issue dealing with the recyclability of novel nuclear fuels. The different fuel types that have been identified as possible future alternatives for the next generation of power reactors are: -) oxide and CerCer/CerMet inert matrix fuels, -) nitride fuels, and -) carbide fuels. The different issues are: the scientific achievements, investigating how to increase the industrial applicability of the fabrication of these novel fuels, the bridging of the often separate physics and chemical communities in connection with nuclear fuel cycles and finally to create an ambitious education and training platform. This will be offered to younger scientists and will include a broadening of their experience by international exchange with relevant facilities. At the end of the project 27 papers in peer reviewed journals were published and it is expected that the real number will be the double. The training and integration success was evidenced by the fruitful implementation of the Travel Fund as well as the unique schools, e.g. practical and theoretical handling of plutonium

AbstractAbstract
[en] Sintering behavior of MOX pellets prepared by the mechanical blending method was evaluated from measurement results of the O/M ratio and dimensional shrinkage of the pellets during sintering. Change of the O/M ratio occurred when approaching the equilibrium condition which was decided from oxygen potential depending on the PH2/PH2O ratio in the sintering atmosphere. The O/M ratio increased and the MOX pellets shrank at lower temperatures with decreasing PH2/PH2O ratio. The MOX pellets sintered near O/M=2.00 showed more homogeneous distribution of uranium and plutonium than those of other specimens. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We give a criterion of classicality for mixed states in terms of expectation values of a quantum observable. Using group representation theory, we identify all cases when the criterion can be computed exactly in terms of the spectrum of a single operator. This article is part of a special issue of Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical devoted to ‘Coherent states: mathematical and physical aspects’. (paper)
